Coffee & Con(ser)v(ers)ation

As part of my research into the site I am hosting a series of Coffee & Con(ser)v(ers)ation events to consider our relationships with wildlife and the relationships between industry and nature at Attenborough and beyond.

These public events will invite participants to engage in discussion surrounding the impacts industry has on nature (both positive and negative) and to explore the implications these relationships may have on conservation efforts and the landscapes of the future.

The ‘coffee morning’ setup aims to provide an inclusive and informal environment for discussion, while the specially designed crockery provides potential points of conversation. Everyone is welcome to participate, no formal expertise is required but please do not be shy if you have knowledge to share!

Details of events will be posted here as they become available.

I am currently working with ceramicist Beccy Ridsdel to create the tea set for these events which takes inspiration from my research and will act as a point of reference for the conversations. The set combines Beccy’s unique and distinctive peeled ceramic design with my artwork. The process of making this set has been very interesting and I have learnt a lot about working with clay. Here are a few images of progress so far:
